Vermont might become the Colorado of the East! Vermont, home to tie-dyes, psychedelic music, and hippie farmers, is exploring the prospects of fully legalizing cannabis. Although DC was the first East Coast jurisdiction to permit recreational pot use, Vermont could be the first East Coast haven for recreational marijuana sales. Vermont might differ from Colorado and Washington by keeping tighter control over pot sales and licensing only cooperatives or nonprofit businesses. They are also considering limiting the potency of legally sold marijuana products and banning cannabis products that appeal to children, such as fruit-candies and sodas.
