Golden Milk - Turmeric Cannabis Infused Coffee

Marijuana Infused Golden Milk Delight

December 28, 2023

Haldi Ka Doodh, also known as "Golden Milk," is an extraordinary beverage to have at any time of the day, and its benefits are exceptional. I was inspired by Tania, a lovely British lady, who introduced me to "Golden Milk," and I've been making it ever since.

The main ingredient for making Golden Milk is turmeric. Turmeric grows wild in the forests of South and Southeast Asia and is collected for use in traditional Indian medicine. It's also a key ingredient in many Asian dishes, primarily as a coloring agent.

To start, it's best to make a large batch of this Golden Milk because it can be a bit of work. Initially, I used regular coconut butter, but when I tried it with cannabis-infused coconut butter, I found it to be tastier and more potent.

This recipe yields 5 cups.

Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups non-dairy milk (such as almond or coconut milk)
  • 2.5 cups regular brewed black coffee (optional; you can double the amount of coconut milk if you prefer no coffee)
  • 3 pieces of 3" cinnamon sticks (or 1.5 teaspoons of ground cinnamon)
  • 1 teaspoon of ground pepper
  • 1.5 teaspoons of turmeric paste or 3 pieces of 1" fresh turmeric, thinly sliced (dried turmeric can be used as well)
  • 3 tablespoons of honey (adjust to taste)
  • 3 tablespoons of cannabis-infused coconut oil (you can use our 1 Gram Cannabutter Recipe with coconut oil)
  • Ground cinnamon for serving
  • A joint, a bottle of wine, a loved one, good music and candles (optional).

Instructions

  1. Start by setting the mood with a relaxing environment if desired.
  2. Mix all ingredients, except for the milk and coffee, in a large pot.
  3. Add 1 cup of coconut or almond milk and place the pot on the stove. Bring it to a low boil, then reduce the heat and stir constantly until the mixture thickens into a paste.
  4. Slowly pour in the remaining milk and let it simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add freshly brewed coffee if desired and let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any unwanted particles.
  7. Serve in mugs, topped with a dash of cinnamon.
  8. This can be stored for up to 5 days in an airtight container, and you can enjoy it warm or cold. Remember to stir well before drinking due to turmeric settling at the bottom.
