Gamers, we come in all shapes, sizes and backgrounds. But what sets some gamers apart from others is their love for sweet sweet Mary Jane. And in a new social norm where there are more strains than ever before, having a helping hand finding the right strain for your gaming experience is almost as important as having a 6400DPI mouse or a good headset.
The article below we will discuss a few of my favorite strains of Marijuana that I like to have around when I am gaming. These are just helpful suggestions, and experience may vary from person to person.

I've also added a few talking points on the relationship between gaming and smoking weed. They're listed below:
Marijuana has been proven to help slow your thinking, which affects motor function. This can help in MMOFPS games such as Fortnite, COD, and Overwatch.
You're happier overall. Marijuana helps the body produce and release chemicals that make you happy. And being a happy gamer makes the whole gaming experience fun.
You're generally more focused. For me I love me some Darksiders and Doom, lots of hidden things to find. When you're not so distracted, I find I do much better at these.
I've been smoking and gaming since the original release of Unreal Tournament (back then Epic Games wasn't too well known), and something I've learned over the years is that there are strains that are great for gaming, and some that aren't. I'll go over a few of my favorites.
Strains vary from grower to grower. THC levels are as an average based on Leafly.com . And remember, these are my personal favorites. Everyone will react differently to each strain. And there is no such thing as a perfect strain. It all just depends on what you're smoking it for.
Otherwise known as Gorilla Glue, the original strain touted relaxing properties. Definitely a go-to strain for me, but not a good one to smoke if you're a FPS player since this will knock you down a peg or two. This is more reserved for RPG games, platformers that don't require too much hand-eye coordination. It's a potent strain, and definitely not for the light smoker. A little bit goes a long way, so a couple puffs and you'll notice your focus gets a little blurry. But with time you can definitely focus that into major KS in Overwatch. This strain has had properties that can help with anxiety among other things. This almost sweet smelling bud leaves your body feeling relaxed, your brain feeling almost slightly light but doesn't give you couch lock. Definitely a good strain to use in-between those Fortnite or COD matches. This strain for the average smoker won't leave you feeling body heavy, but you might notice some grogginess coming down. You can't ever go wrong with a Kush. This strain is my favorite one for when I want to go old school. I'm talking about the original SNES complete with controllers and the coax cable for the old TV. Couch lock yourself into the 90s with this strain. This baby is what I want when I'm playing some Killer Instinct, Mario Kart or even Smash T.V. . I would definitely recommend for when you want to veg and game. Learn more about this strain here.
An interesting strain name for a strain that I've found in both Sativa and Indica. This one has varied for me depending on the grower. Some strains have been more head high, which allowed for better gaming experience. There are a few variants of this, so searching for Girl Scout Cookies in Leafly will give you a lot more variety. I find myself going to games like Hollow Knight, Shovel Knight and Knights of Pen and Paper with this one. I also love my RTS like Starcraft and Command and Conquer. Purple Urkle: I can honestly attribute about 85% of my Overwatch POTGs to this strain. An Indica dominant, this strain can quickly become your best friend. It's one that almost seems to quiet the body, clear the mind and helps you focus on the task at hand. Ive easily pulled off 20+ KS's in Overwatch smoking on this. Anxiety sufferers like myself I would recommend this one due to reviews I've seen on Leafly. This is of course based on personal use, so experience may vary. Learn more about this strain here.

We all have the rituals. We have that one room, or one area of the house deemed "the cave" or "the gamer area". I myself have a sweet setup for my gaming needs. I've listed a few good ideas to help you setup your space, and a couple of my own I currently use
Make sure you have all your goodies beforehand. Nothing says buzzkill like having to figure out food when you're too high to drive.
Get a couple tokes in to set your baseline. A good stoned gamer is high, but not fubar'd. I like to do a couple test matches in Overwatch.
Take regular breaks. Usually like 10 minutes every couple of hours does the trick, and it's good to get the blood flowing.
Equipment is everything. I have dual screen setup, and a nice surround sound system for my gaming needs. I'm not a voice player, but Razr headsets are top of their game.
Get your mindset into your game of choice. I have a couple spotify playlists I use before I hop into Overwatch.
Pot smoker since '98 and gamer since '88, I have enjoyed the fruits of the industries.
