6 Tips to Self Isolate With Cannabis And Keep The Quarantine Blues At Bay!

Quarantine, a word that earlier only made an appearance when one was talking about the medieval times, has now made its way into everyday jargon. All thanks to the coronavirus. As the disease spreads at record rates all over the country, it has become imperative to go into self-isolation, for both your safety as well as to flatten the curve of the pandemic.

In such a case, while we remain inside that house and do our part in helping limit the spread of coronavirus, cannabis can be helpful. For people who have a medical marijuana card, it is a necessity but for recreational users, it can help in adding some flavor to the otherwise bland isolation days.

So, how do you stay entertained during this period of self-isolation while you’re stoned and stuck at home? Here are some ideas that seem to work very well, at least for me.

1. Have A Marathon

You can’t run, might as well do something else equally taxing. Have a movie or television show marathon. Watch the classic movies you have been putting off ( they become much more fun when you are a little up in the clouds), or try a genre that you are not particularly inclined towards (a word of advice, stay away from horror). This will help you kill a couple of hours or even more.

In a similar vein, with the amount of content being peddled to us, it is next to impossible to run out of television shows to binge on during this time. You just need to be creative while picking the shows. Try watching shows of the eras gone by and then see if or not you still relate to them. Some shows are still relevant, while others not so much. But the only person to judge that is you.

2. Indulge Yourself

It is nice to go a little extra on oneself at times, Cannabis can really help amplify the whole experience of pampering yourself.

Start by using one of those face masks you probably have in your cupboard. If by chance you don’t have one, you can easily create one using things available in your pantry. You can even draw up a bath and throw in some relaxing bath salts. Also, put on some relaxing music to create your own at-home spa. If you really want to take the whole experience to the next level then you can use one of the many cannabis topicals (bath bombs and salts) while drawing the bath.

If you don’t feel like putting in so much effort, you can just take a long shower and pamper yourself with clean sheets and your coziest pajamas.

3. Cook And Then Eat While High

Now, this is a very unpredictable venture. Either you like cooking or you live with someone who does. In that case, this is a great time to make a fancy meal. You can try something you have been itching to try and create a complete three-course meal starting with an appetizer and ending with a dessert.

It is better if you cook first and then savor the food, it is much safer that way. 

4. Get Creative

You don’t have to be an artist to be a creative person. All of us are inherently creative, it is just about tapping into that potential. Maybe you have a craft kit lying at home or an instrument you picked up on a whim. Now is the perfect time to try them out. You don’t have an audience, you are probably a little high. Even if you are really bad, how does it matter?

The same goes for all other kinds of creative endeavors you can undertake. As long as you have a pen and paper you have endless opportunities to express yourself. If you have a printer, you can print coloring pages to fill in whenever you are bored.

5. Do A Workout

You might not be able to go out and move around. But there are some really great videos and applications you can make use of during this time. You can customize your workout at your convenience. Just browse online and see what kind of exercise fits your sensibilities. My personal recommendation would be to give yoga a try, it fits perfectly with cannabis. If that is not your cup of tea, there are always pilates, Zumba, or other exercises.

Don’t fret if you do not have equipment at home. There are plenty of modules online that are based on your bodyweight and deliver similar results.

6. Do A Thorough Clean

Productivity and a high don’t usually move hand in hand, but you can make them. Just find the right strain and you might be able to thoroughly clean your house without much motivation. Whether it is a light spring clean or a complete deep cleaning session, cannabis can help you get in the zone without much effort. Plus, once you get in the zone, you might even end up doing more than what you had originally imagined.

We are living in a strange time and it is natural to feel anxious. But the only thing we can do right now is to function as a community and keep each other safe. If you feel yourself getting bored at any point, just try one of the ideas given on the list. They will definitely make you feel better.
