No social platform owns the elegance and the diversity quite like Instagram. from breath-taken landscapes, to cute animals photos, to silly selfies, to that picture of your last meal in a restaurant that for some reason you decided to show the whole world how great other people can cook.
It's diverse, indeed. However, Instagram has been terminating many marijuana related profiles in the last few years – even those Canadian accounts where medical marijuana is federally legal - but there are many accounts out there still surviving and gaining thousands of followers. The only issue is finding the right accounts to follow.
So I decided to do my homework, focus on Instagram cannabis influencers who we expect to attract attention and followers. It's a niche market, combined with the negative stigma surround marijuana, and I truly admire their courage and the risk they're talking.
So if you don't care about following celebrities like Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian or Britney spears, and you'd rather look for "celebrities" in the cannabis industry, search no more, here are our top rising Cannabis Instagram influencers you should follow in 2021:
Meghan is a 29-year-old from Seattle, WA currently working at Hashtag Cannabis & Supply Co in the Fremont neighborhood, she is working towards a business degree with a goal to one day own her own cannabis dispensary. When it comes to consumption, she has a method for every mood but finds a particular comfort in smoking flower out of Mimi, her favorite bong. Meghan far prefers the use of cannabis as her vice of choice, being particular towards strains high in the terpenes Limonene, Myrcene, and Caryophyllene; staples in her lineup include Candyland, Tropicana Cookies, Wedding Cake, and Falcon 9.
Meghan was also a guest on our One Strain At A time Podcast.
A decade long veteran of the restaurant industry Meghan made the switch to retail cannabis in 2020 after cutting out alcohol. Starting as a budtender for a prominent chain store she has since pivoted to her current role as an inventory manager at a more unique and inclusive shop. Admittedly hesitant at first to join the industry because of the know-it-all stoner bro stigma that exists in certain environments, she has since found enjoyment in getting new users comfortable with and excited about the plant in a way that is unique to their needs. Meghan recognizes the enormous lack of diversity in the industry and strives to use her position to uplift marginalized voices, bring awareness to minority owned vendors, and donates monthly to causes such as Last Prisoner Project and Union Organizational efforts throughout the country.

The cannabis industry has had a profound effect on Kela’s life. Twelve years ago, Kela was diagnosed with depression, anxiety and ADHD and for years she tried to manage it with traditional medication. In 2018, she was introduced to cannabis and it changed her life, as it re-centered and balanced her entire being. As a result, she made it a goal to learn everything she could about the cannabis-hemp plant.
After moving from New York City to Miami, Kela met Alicia Goku, a cannabis influencer based out of LA and through this relationship, flew to Los Angeles, stayed two weeks, and immersed herself in education. Amassing this knowledge has focused Kela on wanting to build her own business and be an advocate and credible messenger about the impact Cannabis can have on people’s lives.
Kela currently is the owner of High Vibez Society a luxury cannabis lifestyle brand that focuses on “The Sophistication of Cannabis” where she curates upscale Events, has a Rose Bud Preroll brand called Fumée Rose and she is partnered with CBD Botanical Company oHHo where she is a Community Creator: a combination of quality products, customer-focused marketing, education and advocacy.
With events planned for Miami and NYC, Kela is excited about educating her network while building her own business with benefits.

This year she is building her graphic design, social media marketing and photography portfolio.

Ending the stigma around cannabis use is important to her and she hopes her page can help break that stereotype.
Chyrl is a 33-year-old from northeast Ohio. She has 3 kids and a granddaughter due to arrive summer 2022. She currently works at a local grocery store, but hopes to work at a dispensary as more continue to open throughout the state. This is the biggest obstacle to getting into the cannabis industry: lack of dispensaries in smaller cities even though medical has been legal in Ohio for 6 years.
A cannabis user and advocate for many years, and dealing with the aftermath of traumatic events, Chyrl stumbled upon the cannabis community in Fall 2020, during a sesh, and her Instagram, @stoner.nerd420, was born from the bong ashes. Since then, she has befriended many like-minded individuals all across the country. She has built friendships and become an inspiration to others. The community and cannabis has helped her through much of her struggles with PTSD. Favorite strains include Northern Lights, White Widow, and Sour Diesel.
In January 2022, she joined w0lfpack as an influencer promoting products such as CDB gummies and smoking devices, from a variety of companies. She hopes this will help gain opportunities with more companies in the future.
Other than influencing work, Chyrl enjoys making reels and sending smoke clouds on her stories. In her spare time, she is usually binging Netflix with her husband, playing Pokémon Go, or reading a book.
Her advice for those wanting to join the community: Just be yourself! It sounds cliché, but it’s true!
Ms. Tea or Ash as peeps call her, is a 31 year old medical marijuana patient from the East Coast US in the midst of life change. Beginning to learn more about the cannabis world in many ways can be extremely challenging. She joined a small family in the marketing agency world working with new cannabis brands as well as people and what better group then the W0lfpackmentality influence community. Taking her in with welcome arms and bright smiles, she learned about working with different brands involving CBD, hemp, glass wear, and smoking devices.
Building friendships all across the platform only widened Ashley’s mind for adventure and curiosity. At a young Ms. Tea has been a self conscious person whether it be with appearance or actions, taking photos or videos can not be stressful but also time consuming. Images come & go but the secret to health & peace is to do what makes you happy.
Between medical prescriptions, guessing games, guinea pigs, insurance, everyday survival, moving, bad relationships, new relationships and friendships, work, family etc. She still manages to wake up smiling at the Universe asking, “What's next.” She may seem shy at first but this Libra is easy to speak to, kind, caring, supportive, and even creative.
Ash enjoys sharing her knowledge on cannabis, glass, products, cleaning, and even clothing and jewelry to her fellow canna fam. She's known for not only her support in the industry but the support within her cannabis family. Support, communication, and connections are what everyone and anyone could use and she is NOT afraid to show it or share it.

However, after managing to put together multiple years without relapsing on heroin, and finding others in the cannabis community who also once suffered from a substance use disorder, Tara found peace and knew she was in fact in recovery.
She now co-hosts a podcast called Beyond The Rooms, runs her online shop A Blazin Grace and dedicates her time to normalizing and advocating for cannabis as recovery pathway. If she’s not helping others fall more in love with our plant, she’s smoking at home; her favs are Purple Punch for always, Wi-Fi OG when she needs to melt away, and Angela when she needs to get some stuff done.
Just north of Seattle, managing a retail location, she wants to continue to grow in our industry, but says she really is happiest where she’s at, doing what she does, helping those who seek her out.
