Anti-Marijuana Politician Andy Harris At Risk Of Not Being Re-Elected

Marijuana legalization is going to be a major platform in the next Maryland congressional election. Andy Harris, the incumbent, has tried to halt the decriminalization and legalization of marijuana in Congress over the past few years. Now, Andy Harris is up for re-election, and it seems that he is unlikely to win against Michael Smigiel, the pro-marijuana competition.

Smigiel recognizes the will of DC voters, and wants to enact laws that open DC to a regulated recreational market. If Smigiel wins over Harris, it would mean one more vote toward legalization and one less vote against it, and would increase the momentum in Congress to end federal marijuana prohibition outright. Local politics have always been important, but if you're a Maryland resident, this vote could be crucial for the marijuana legalization movement. Get out there and vote!
